Are bay leaves a scam?

@Mollyploofkins I love a pot of ham hocks and beans. The bay leaf is a must!!

@Mollyploofkins I don't think so, I use a bay leaf in soups.

@Mollyploofkins Add it in most of my bean soups makes a difference and also in Greek dishes. Not a lot though, just 1 whole leaf.

@Mollyploofkins I can’t taste the difference when I don’t use them🤷‍♂️

@Mollyploofkins No. Fresh herbs make a dish taste so much better.

@Mollyploofkins Not in soups. 👩🏻‍🍳🙋🏻‍♀️

@Mollyploofkins My parents had a bay tree in the yard. The difference between fresh and dried is significant. When you buy dried, they are potent for about a year and then it declines.

@Mollyploofkins I never noticed any real flavor from them myself.
