@jeff_ruff @MikeAsti11 Said that ever since. One thing to beat up on schools like ECU and Tulsa weekly. What we did in the Big East in our most successful years after VT and Miami were gone. We got freebies Vs UConn, Rutgers, etc Schedule matters.

@ClintBennett90 @jeff_ruff Literally no team in the country has a schedule without freebies on it and putting together too tough of a schedule makes things unnecessarily hard. But the only point that matters is there’s talent at Cincinnati, which is why WVU is going after those players.

@MikeAsti11 @jeff_ruff Yea I miss read the initial context. I thought Jeff was talking about their transition into the Big 12. I think people are going to find out it isn’t easy, don’t fool ourselves that’s part of the reason Fickle jumped ship at end of this season. I agree they have some talent.

@MikeAsti11 @jeff_ruff Also argue no one in the country is scheduling as hard as us. Sure VT can be considered a “freebie” but we also went there on a Thursday Night. Towson was the true only freebie. Same as next year. Like we weren’t good this year but we weren’t an easy out especially at home.

@ClintBennett90 @jeff_ruff WVU should in no way be scheduling as tough as they do. When you have ranked teams in conference, it’s fully unnecessary to add much more, especially starting on road so often. That’s WVU’s own fault.

@MikeAsti11 @ClintBennett90 Was the non-conf really that tough this year?

@jeff_ruff @MikeAsti11 I think VT was awful and Pitt underachieved late. However tell me which odds are better. Playing those teams on the road non conference or getting to play Georgia St at home. Odds tell us we probably have a 90% chance of winning that Georgia St game. That’s why no other team in

@ClintBennett90 @MikeAsti11 Yeah, just saying both were winnable this year. And then you have 2 P5 wins going into conference.

@jeff_ruff @ClintBennett90 My point is you don’t need them. It’s a unnecessary risk to do two road rivals in same year. WVU won all B12 games this year, that would’ve included multiple top 15 or 10 wins by itself. TCU played one P5, one G5 and one FCS. Ran through it and got in even without B12 title.

@MikeAsti11 @ClintBennett90 My point is pitt and vt are the same as G5 wins. 😁

@jeff_ruff @ClintBennett90 Pitt and VT were both better than Colorado this year and Pitt had better season than SMU too. But yet TCU beating Colorado and SMU with an FCS added was plenty enough due to conference wins.

@jeff_ruff @ClintBennett90 SMU was a 7-5 team with plenty of bad losses in there. They didn’t have a better year than Pitt. And Colorado was 1-11. Both VT and Pitt would’ve beat Colorado. And don’t need PSU next year. Play Pitt, FCS and then G5 OOC, not good P5 with Pitt. Not necessary.
