@CoachRacalto They never expected Flores to be a long term thing. Tomlin literally hoped he’d get a DC or ideally head coach job when he hired him on his staff. It wasn’t done for life with Steelers. He’s even said he thought Flores was above the job he initially offered him.

You would think people wouldn’t still freak out every single time a player enters the transfer portal. Every team loses players, and they lose players they don’t want to lose as well as others they are completely fine losing. Prediction: The NCAA will all of a sudden back off and grant Battle eligibility. It’s to the point it’s not worth the hassle for them to actually fight this in court. It’s asinine it has to get to this point, but I do think it’s getting pushed so far that the NCAA will cave.

@BFredaWVU I think coaches would rather this window now vs getting a really late start on building for next year. People look to bowls because they count towards record, but enough players have been skipping for long enough before portal that they can’t really be used to evaluate.

@BFredaWVU This time period makes sense. Bowls have nothing to do with it. It impacts teams in minor bowls or major bowls the same. Ohio State and Georgia have lost players.

WVU DL Mike Lockhart entering the portal is the first one that actually moves the needle for me. The others were either expected for awhile or purely depth pieces wanting more playing time elsewhere.
