What an extraordinary claim. As someone from a diverse ethnic background, I find it absurd to suggest that valuing faith, family, and freedom is somehow a rejection of a pluralistic society. These principles are not the property of any one race, culture, religion, or political movement. They are shared values that have existed across civilizations, cultures, and communities throughout history. Family provides support and belonging. Faith provides meaning and purpose for many people. Freedom allows individuals to live according to their own beliefs and make their own choices, so long as they respect the rights of others. A truly pluralistic society does not demand that people abandon these values. It respects the right of people to hold them. Diversity includes diversity of thought, belief, culture, and worldview—not just the viewpoints approved by political activists or activists generally. When did faith, family, and freedom become controversial? For most people, regardless of background, they remain fundamental values worth protecting. That said, I respect your right to express your opinion, even when I strongly disagree with it. Isn't that what freedom is all about? The ability to have different perspectives, debate them openly, and live together in a society that respects both individual liberty and mutual respect?

It's remarkable that some commentators react as though "Faith, Family, and Freedom" are controversial values. Family is the foundation of every healthy society. Strong families raise children, care for seniors, build communities, and create the social stability that governments can never replace. Freedom is not a partisan concept. It is the freedom to speak openly, practice one's beliefs, raise one's children according to one's values, start a business, pursue opportunities, and live safely without government overreach. Most British Columbians, regardless of political affiliation, want exactly that. As for faith, whether one is religious or not, a free society should respect the right of people to hold and practice their beliefs without ridicule or discrimination. The real question isn't why someone would stand for faith, family, and freedom. The real question is why anyone would be threatened by those values in the first place. These are not radical ideas. They are values shared by millions of Canadians and British Columbians from every background, culture, and community. Keep going Kerry-Lynne - you are representing ALL British Columbians.

Isn't the Conservative movement already center-right? As someone who considers myself center-right, I don't want to see endless divisions, competing egos, or another round of vote-splitting. I want to see people with shared values working together to restore balance, common sense, affordability, public safety, economic opportunity, and accountable government in British Columbia. The reality is simple: every time the center, center-right, and right divide into separate camps, the BC NDP benefits. British Columbians cannot afford opposition parties that spend more time fighting each other than offering solutions for the future of our province. Success doesn't come from one group demanding complete control. It comes from building a broad coalition, respecting different perspectives, and focusing on what unites us rather than what divides us. The issue facing British Columbia in healthcare is not only the aging demographic of it's population but also that 31% of doctors are over 60 and of those, 16% are 65 and older. Considering that about 1/3 of our doctors are trained in other countries, the increase in medical school training seats touted by our Minister of Health is a fraction of what is needed. There is a world wide shortage of doctors and nurses. We need to be bold and stop rationing access to timely care by training too few healthcare providers. Planning our healthcare needs to be patient centered so that everyone in BC can get timely access and choice in their care.

I have deep respect for the hard-working men and women of this province. You pay your taxes, build our communities, and keep our economy moving every single day. You deserve a government that honours that effort by spending your dollars carefully and wisely. Instead, the NDP has treated taxpayer money with recklessness, driving our debt to $183 billion in just four years. Leading with purpose means we will conduct the core reviews needed on our finances and the public service. Governments do not create wealth. They must prioritize responsible spending so families and businesses can succeed. That is why our momentum continues to build. The latest Leger poll shows British Columbians are responding to this message of respect and renewal. I am grateful for your support. It comes because you see a team that respects your hard work and has a clear plan to restore fiscal responsibility and real opportunity.

The irony of this post is hard to miss. The very people talking about a "Big Tent" seem prepared to split the center and centre-right votes and hand another victory to the NDP simply because they don't like the outcome of a leadership race. British Columbia is facing some of the most serious challenges in its history: rising debt and deficits, declining productivity, affordability pressures, public safety concerns, addiction and homelessness, healthcare shortages, struggling schools, and growing concerns about government overreach and accountability. The priority should be fixing these problems, not creating another political party because some individuals are unhappy with the leadership's results. The goal has always been to build a coalition broad enough to represent the diverse views of British Columbians while focusing on common-sense solutions. No political party succeeds by demanding ideological purity. Success comes from bringing people together around shared priorities and a shared vision for the future. If the concern is about the new leader, then engage with her. Reach out. Have the conversation. Work to influence the direction of the party from within. That's how healthy political movements grow. What I find increasingly frustrating is the constant attempt by political opponents and commentators to paint every Conservative as some version of an American political stereotype. Most Conservatives I know are not interested in imported political labels. They are focused on responsible government, affordability, economic growth, public safety, strong healthcare, quality education, and protecting democratic freedoms. British Columbians deserve less political theatre and more leadership. Creating another centre-right party does not weaken the NDP—it strengthens them. History has shown that repeatedly. The question shouldn't be how many parties can occupy the same political space. The question should be how we unite enough British Columbians to deliver the change this province desperately needs.

As your newly elected Leader of the BC Conservative Party, I bring senior-level experience that will serve every family in our province. I served as a Cabinet Minister in Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s government, where I helped deliver lower taxes, cut red tape, and return the country to a surplus after the worst recession in decades. That experience taught me how to manage government responsibly and put people first. I was appointed Chief Opposition Whip by Pierre Poilievre, the first woman to hold the position. In that role I was responsible for uniting and leading a large national caucus with discipline and focus. I am also a King’s Counsel, an honour that reflects decades of legal expertise and a deep commitment to the rule of law and property rights. As a senior lawyer I have spent decades defending the rule of law and property rights. In the late 1990s, as a young widow with small children, I bought a leasehold property on Musqueam land in South Vancouver. When the Musqueam First Nation sued the homeowners, I helped lead our legal team through a long and costly battle that went all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada. We won that case in 2000 and protected the property rights and equity of those families. That experience taught me firsthand how critical it is to defend fee-simple ownership and certainty for every British Columbian. These roles have prepared me to lead with seriousness, competence, and results. While the NDP under David Eby has delivered economic vandalism, growing debt, failing services, and chaos, I am ready to restore competent, principled government that works for British Columbians. Together we will unite our party and build a stronger, more prosperous British Columbia.

The race is over. The members have spoken. And I feel good. Congratulations to @KerryLynneFindl on her win and to my fellow contestants @iainblackbc, @yuri_fulmer and @PeterMilobar for their strong campaigns.
