No, these aren’t Trump’s handcuffs. These tiny cuffs were used to restrain Native children who refused to “go quietly” into church run Indian boarding schools. You would’ve known this — had they taught it to you in school.
My father, a boarding school victim/survivor, was once knocked across the room by a priest for speaking Lakota in “class.” He told me that his boarding school had a jail, it was located right next to the cemetery. I remember him weeping in his sleep — in the predawn darkness.
@LakotaMan1 1969... I think people need to realize how recently this was still happening. 😥
@LakotaMan1 Cruelty has always been the point to maintain white male supremacy. $10.00 for a little Indian. South Dakota 1952.
@LakotaMan1 I was allowed on land in Mt. Pleasant MI that has been given back to the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe, and paid respects to the 227+ children buried in unmarked graves on boarding school grounds. 💔 💔💔
@LakotaMan1 If we had a Native American President, what advice do you think he would give to all of us today?
@LakotaMan1 Watching 1923. Not sure if that’s a good depiction but it was horrible
@LakotaMan1 You'd probably be surprised how many schools do teach this stuff. The Trail of tears, indian agents, the brutality if government schools , the program to "integrate" native people's into society. Guess what. It's not unique in history. You can dwell in the past or push on.
@LakotaMan1 Anglo Saxon World Power must fall, forever.
