“You cannot be a Christian w/out practicing the Beatitudes...w/out doing what Jesus teaches us in Mat 25. It’s hypocrisy to call yourself a Christian & chase away a refugee or someone seeking help, someone who is hungry or thirsty, toss out someone who is in need.” -Pope Francis
@JohnFugelsang Refugee's need to stay in the first nation they cross into.
@JohnFugelsang It’s not good to take bread from the children and throw it to the dogs -Jesus
@JohnFugelsang I’ve not meant many Christians. Most practice the opposite of what Jesus supposedly said. (I have read one of those bibles where his bits are in red—I try to keep up with the best-selling fiction.) By observation, I don’t think most who call themselves Christians have read it.
@JohnFugelsang Are you listening, Evangeloonicals?
@JohnFugelsang they just skip right over the sermon on the mount and JC like he's a gym hurdle.
@JohnFugelsang The problem with Evangelical Christians is, at every turn they do the opposite of the teachings of Jesus.
@JohnFugelsang Exactly. "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me" - meaning if you're not following Christ's example & his life, it doesn't matter what "laws"you're following. If everyone were following his example, the "shalt nots" wouldn't be needed.
@JohnFugelsang What we have are people who want the title "Christian" buy they are really Evangelical Hypocrites, they think being "saved" gives them the right to judge, belittle and condemn others as if they were without sin.
@JohnFugelsang Incredibly, it was necessary for the pope to say this.
