Some think the problems of many people in our society are individual when in reality they're systemic. Systemic problems require systemic solutions. But some of y'all aren't ready for that conversation...
@Jaybefaunt There's an amazing but very difficult book called Anti-Oedipus by Deleuze & Guattari that argues the problem with society is we think of ourselves as individuals instead of part of society. What makes us human is our connections with others; we don't exist EXCEPT in a community.
@Jaybefaunt Some people will always be Victims. They cling to words such as "Systemic" though the evidence points elsewhere. We have tried, in vain, to have that conversation but what we get in return is name calling such as Bigot or Intolerant. We listen, you never will.
@Jaybefaunt They know it's systemic but as long as they can frame it as individualistic issue then it won't be addressed and they will have again succeeded in diverting attention from solutions to why it won't work.
@Jaybefaunt Agreed, however, this does not disabuse the individual from culpability for their choices and actions. Rather, it may provide an external justification for their plight…which may exacerbate their personal issues due to lack of critical self-reflection. Victimhood.
@Jaybefaunt So true. So many ppl are still under the individualistic mindset mentality and it's insane!
