Pretty remarkable that America temporarily constructed a safety net during Covid — including major health care coverage, food benefits, anti poverty funding for families & kids, etc — and then just systematically and slowly demolished it

@JStein_WaPo That was not a safety net.. and it would not have been needed if we didn't use pointless Covid restrictions to destroy 80% of small businesses in the first place.
@JStein_WaPo and all we had to do was crank up the printing presses resulting in out of control inflation and debt that will plague us - or our children - for decades.
@JStein_WaPo Why? The ability to do that in crisis, when risk of despair increased dramatically, is positive. The idea it can or should be sustained indefinitely is childish. Especially when that emergency response left the economy teetering from inflation & interest rates effecting all.
