As a college student, I was inspired by Studs Terkel’s book, Working, which chronicled what ordinary people did for a living. Working: What We Do All Day from @HGMedia is a new series that builds on that idea – sharing the stories of people from different walks of life, and giving you a window into the jobs they do every day. npr.org/2023/05/16/117…
Only in America do elites try to address the plight of the working class by - (checks notes) - making a television show about them to be aired on a for-profit streaming service with a record of worker exploitation featuring one of the most blatantly pro-corporate presidents we've ever had.
@IPEwithSBB @BarackObama @HGMedia Please, say what you really mean 🙄
@IPEwithSBB @BarackObama @HGMedia How do you think they should do it?
@IPEwithSBB @BarackObama @HGMedia Check your notes again. You want Reagan back? He got Americans to vote against their best interests and feel good about it. Ironically, the staggering loss of middle American wealth due to “supply side” led to much of the anger that enabled the 45th admin to be a 🍑🤡
@IPEwithSBB @BarackObama @HGMedia I know I could be wrong, but is this the same guy who stood back and watched big banks evict 6 million families from their homes?
@IPEwithSBB @BarackObama @HGMedia Don't watch then
@IPEwithSBB @BarackObama @HGMedia Hmmm, a positive show illuminating the everyday worker without any yelling and screaming or name calling…that has the potential to open some eyes. Sounds ok to me.
@IPEwithSBB @BarackObama @HGMedia What is he supposed to do instead then? Surely if it makes the people in the show happy that’s he’s spending time talking to them, then that’s all that matters right?
