Everyone is talking about Apple's and the new Vision Pro. But let's jump back to 1984, when Apple dropped the Macintosh, kick starting the world of digital art and giving life to a style known as 1-Bit Art. 👇 Macintosh came with MacPaint, a game-changer for artists. It let them paint without getting messy, erase seamlessly, make endless copies, and create to their heart's content. If you love Illustrator, Photoshop, and CorelDraw, you can thank MacPaint for paving the way! The limited but cool features of the Macintosh led to the creation of 1-Bit Art. With only black and white to work with, artists had to think outside the box. I’ve created my own piece of 1-Bit Art. This NFT is a tribute to a simpler time, working with just your imagination, your ideas, and no colors to distract. It's like doodling with a pen on a scrap of paper. To make this work I spent several days looking for the best option, since in my country you can't find these types of computers. Therefore, my only choice was to emulate a Macintosh on my devices. There are various options but none of them is an "app" that you install and everything works. Several steps are needed and, above all, an understanding of how these computers worked. You're going to need many .dsk and .rom files, something not used nowadays. The best option I found was to use the Mini vMac emulator, with which I was able to run Macintosh 1.0 on my MacBook Pro, on my Windows workstation, and lastly, on my iPad Pro. This last one was the definitive solution, I could simulate having a Macintosh 128k + a KoalaPad, the precursor of all graphic tablets available today. Let me tell you, working with old tech has its quirky limitations: It’s just one shot to undo, no zoom, no colors and you wouldn't believe how tough it is to export a file! Annoying at first, but a cool throwback to the humble beginings of digital art. This NFT is the representation of a moment in history and aims to preserve a forgotten moment in the history of digital art: the 1-Bit Art. Behind this simple image, there is a lot of work, but above all, there is a great lesson, and I hope that the piece resonates with the collector who can find it. It's been almost three years since I made my first NFT using the process I currently employ to create my sculptures: Clay modeling + Photogrammetry + 3D Modeling + 3D Rendering. Without a doubt, it was an image that upon seeing it completed, astonished me and set my destiny. I am deeply grateful to God for showing me the way forward and for awakening within me the gift of curiosity. I am eternally thankful to all of the collectors who have believed in my art, the message, and the process 🙌
