@SigonoScott I think it's generic and general enough that it can't be a spoiler. Spoilers tend to be specific and expected. That's like saying that describing a horror game as having jump scares would be a spoiler, but since you don't know when to expect the jump scare(s)...

Analyses like this one of Michelin's marketing strategy are invaluable: positech.co.uk/cliffsblog/201… Michelin (a tire company) branching into gourmet food awards was key to defining and controlling their brand association with *quality*. Any brand can do this with intention!

@cliffski Great post here exploring how discounts on a game are basically a marketing cost, so if you have capital available in advance, you can consider spending that budget on developing DLC or other types of marketing rather than steeply discounting your game: positech.co.uk/cliffsblog/201…

@simoncarless In slightly pinball-adjacent news, I picked up RoundGuard after hearing you mention it on an interview and it's been great fun so far! I'm surprised at how fresh a take this is on pinball + roguelite as my only previous pinball experience was from Windows' Space Cadet. Thanks!

@simoncarless Oh, I see! Looks like there's a lot more growing demand than existing supply, and new pinball machine prices are quite a bit higher than these used prices we're seeing (surprising to me, I didn't know pinball was such an expensive hobby!)

Simon Carless' Game Discoverability interviews/podcasts have also been a boon, especially his interview with @FutureFriendsVG. Mike Rose's GDC talks are also excellent, in particular his 2019 talk about building a community from scratch. His discord meta-games are so innovative!
