American ‘06 midfielder is training with Sparta Prague. I believe he possesses a Greek passport.

🎖@bielsistacz

16 year old, Tino Vasquez, joins the 'Gos on an Academy Contract for 2023. 🔥Chicago Fire U15 Academy ⚽ U15 & U17 Mexican National Team Call-Ups Give him a shout, Madison!🦩 Article Link:forwardmadisonfc.com/news/2023/03/2…

Well that’s interesting

It’s Tino Vasquez signing an academy deal with Forward Madison, which keeps his amateur status and college eligibility. Just in case the original tweet gets deleted with his name being spelled wrong in the graphic

Interesting that he wants to keep his college eligibility open as he could pretty easily go to USL, MLS, and has had trials in Europe

Nvm thought he had an EU passport but apparently he doesn’t.

Actually who knows, this is what I thought was the case. His twitter also says he’s a Greek citizen so 🤷‍♂️

I’m sure the end goal is Europe, because in all honestly that’s every kid’s goal, I just find the keeping college eligibility thing interesting as it’s a route traveled less and less each year. Though it might just be because amateur status allows him to go to Europe at 18 easier

That all being said, best of luck wherever you end up, Tino!
