Hypogammaglobulinemia is not a good thing.
@ChristosArgyrop Primary Humoral Immunodeficiency - esp. CVID comes with some autoimmune manifestations in addition to infections. pDC defect even if transient (7 to 8 M after each Covid 19) - is much worse - no Ig replacement therapy and no dampening of host inflammation -Interferon type 1 low
@ChristosArgyrop hypogammaglobulinemia can develop as a result of another condition, called secondary or acquired immune deficiency. Include organ transplantation...
@ChristosArgyrop @nailatrahman This immunodeficient lady concurs.
@ChristosArgyrop I had a patient with an IGG of 40 and he felt fine...(being checked out for diff reason but had a hunch..lol). Had a wise professor tell those who often are SURE they are immunodeficient (runny nose sydrome) usually are NOT..those who really ARE? Don't know it..
@ChristosArgyrop If you don’t mind…what specialist do you see first to confirm a diagnosis? Immunology? Curious because this has been on my radar for a while.
@ChristosArgyrop And not just bc it mixes Greek & Latin
@ChristosArgyrop I appreciate the certainty of that statement
@ChristosArgyrop Mild hypogammaglobulinemia though right?
