“If Trump is indicted in New York, both the U.S. Constitution and a federal statute dating to 1793 require DeSantis (or the governor of whatever state Trump is in at the time) to hand him over.” msnbc.com/opinion/consti…

@BillKristol But republicans believe they have magical special above the law powers.

@BillKristol Good move by DeSantis here to try to have Trump in Mar a Lago with refugee status. Trump couldn't leave the state and will look weak. Have to give it to him on this one.

@BillKristol Or is believably outraged. I mean seriously nobody can be surprised that Trump paid hush much money to a pornstar and got caught. This will prove to be the best charge to have come first. It goes down easy. Just part of Trump persona.

@BillKristol Politicians follow Constitution? Other than Clinton didn’t do with war since WW2 & War Powers Act 1973. Lawyers always use confusing language, ideology 2 interpret Constitution. Half don’t even think it’s relevant today unless it fits their agenda, e.g. Roe v Wade.

@BillKristol The Secret Service will deliver Trump to New York. Trump is a civilian, and no longer has any authority over them. They answer to the Secretary of DHS. newsweek.com/secret-service…

@BillKristol Too bad Trump isn’t a Venezuelan asylum seeker; DeSantis would have chartered a private plane to fly him to NY!
