Is racism why South African evidence of milder Omicron infection was ignored? bbc.in/33zxSyz
@BBCWorld Of course it was. I was in RSA for 2 weeks over new year and they were gobsmacked that the UK had paid no heed whatsoever to the clinical evidence that they had presented on omicron. Worth remembering that the first heart transplant was done in Cape Town.
@BBCWorld I think it's inferiority complex. More than racism.
@BBCWorld Probably, the country has been f'd up for a long time.
@BBCWorld No. It was the so called green, health passport. To travel you had to be vaccinated. So how did it get out?
@BBCWorld Westerners see Africa as a low-developed continent. The idea that we have the knowledge, technology and resources to help them is silly. We send them products and equipment out of date. Because we white people 'are the best'. - No, we're just getting rid of the rubbish.
@BBCWorld I watched reports from SA and a doctor was saying that there wasn't a problem with omicron. Only 25% population vaccinated and its not overwhelming the country. But I understand SA has a younger demographic than us. So I never believed the hype
@BBCWorld No, they are more aware of what is going on.
@BBCWorld Racism and Covid in the same article. Wow! How original.
@BBCWorld With or without them. Let us continue doing our best for our countries, for our People. That's all that matters. Africa ❤️
