A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) is the highest-grossing entry in the franchise earning 49.3 million in the U.S. (not counting Freddy vs. Jason (2003) or A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)). How would you rank The Dream Master? #80s #horror #horrorcommunity
@80sHorrorDoc Next to the first, it’s my favorite in the series. Freddy at the height of his pop culture power, it feels like the most authentically “80s” of the series (there’s pink and green neon light emitting from a dirty boiler room), and unpopular opinion, Alice > Nancy
@80sHorrorDoc Love it! Still, it rests below 1, 3 and New Nightmare for me. Jeez, what a great franchise
@80sHorrorDoc 6/10 on the Elm Street scale. It has some imaginative death scenes and the new characters are solid, but it's also the one that most feels like "entry in a franchise filling space."
@80sHorrorDoc It’s my favorite film in the franchise and had an insane production history. Take a listen to my deep dive episode about the film. I dare you. podpage.com/theofferingwit…
@80sHorrorDoc I know DREAM WARRIORS is many people's fave but this one tops it I think. Mainly weakness is the new Kristen is just too different. But the Roach Motel & Freddy's death scenes make it an all-timer
